Dewdrop Craftz DT card

I have finally got round to postng a card that I made with one of the fab Dewdrop Craftz images, which I made about a week ago!
I love their manage style images although I did find this one a little bit hard to colour but that's because my colouring is pants anyway lol.

I followed the sketch over at the Yahoo Stamp patch group and for a change I followed the sketch to the letter, well except from adding some flowers, but that's just typical of me because I don't think I could make a card without using flowers!

The papers are from a freebie pad I got in a magazine but I can't remember right now who makes it.
The images is of course from Dewdrop Craftz and is by the designer CupuDOTexe, this one is called Rori 4 and I coloured it with Promarkers.
If you love this kind of images, you will love all the other mangas at Dewdrops, they have a fab selection and if you are anything like I was, you won't just want one or two, you will want them all, so I must state here that I am in no way responsible for you having no money after your visit! lol

The last card I did with one of these images was purple as well.......hmmm no idea why because it's not a colour I normaly use but I just seem to go for purple every time I colour one of these.
Anyway I used some purple binding stuff which Barry found for me and I wasn't sure I would use it on anything but here it is. It looks a bit darker here than irl but that's just my rubbish photography skills and the fact that I took this pic late at night!

The spotty ribbon is from some I won over at the fabulous Kath's blog a while ago and I used a Fiskars punch for the scalloped strip underneath.
The flowers and fibres are all from Janlynn, but unfortunately they are discontinued, but you can find all sorts of other loveliness over there and great customer service too :)
The sentiment and frame thing it's stamped in are from a Stampendous clear stamp set (Ribbon Sliders) and I have a set for sale here on my blog exactly the same.
I used the ribbon slider stamp just with the sentiment on it's own, but it also goes nicely used with ribbon or the ribbon stamps that come in the set.

That's it from me for now. I will be back tomorrow for Digital Tuesday.
Hope you are all having a fab Monday even though it's the worst day of the week!! and thanks so much for stopping by.

Digital Tuesday challenge

I can't believe it is Tuesday already, where did the weekend go!!?
My youngest Daughter Chiara started school on Thursday and I really thought I would have problems getting her to stay there because she is so shy, but actually she wasn't too bad. On Thursday she went in and sat down with her friends and was fine, then on Friday I did have to go sit with her for a few minutes because she was crying and didn't want me to leave, but she was ok when I left and she really enjoyed herself.
I thought we might have some tears yesterday after her being off for the weekend but she was no trouble at all, just went straight in and sat down with her little friends :)
She is only in for half days till the 6th of septmeber and then she will be in all day and have lunch at school but I am dreading that because she is so shy that she won't eat in front of anyone, so I have no idea how she is going to cope with a whole hall full of other kids eating but her big sister (who is only a year and a half older than her) will be there to look after her so I'm sure she will be fine :)
Rhianna has been great and has been waiting for her at playtime so she can look after her, bless her lol, so I'm sure I have nothing to worry about but she is my baby so I am going to worry anyway lol.

Right onto the card, the challenge at Digital Tuesday this week is "Cool It" (use images with water) and our sponsor is Deedee's Digis who very kindly offered the design team some of her images to use for the challenge.

Sorry about the rubbish pic, I took it late last night when there was no light (again!!).
The image I have used is from Deedee's Digis and is called "Surf's Up", there is also some sentiments that come with the image but I wasn't sure what I would use this card for so I didn't use one.
I coloured the surfer dude with my Promarkers. The green paper is Papermania but I am not sure about the spotty one. The rafia ribbon stuff is some I got from a craft shop in Montrose a while back and the metal embellishments are from Janlynn.com. These are unfortunately discontinued, but of course they still have all their fab stamps over there along with loads of other crafty bits.

I was asked the other day by one of my followers who also follows my challenge blog By The Cute and Girly if I knew anywhere that sold stamps and cardmaking items as well as a good selection of needlework items as like a lot of crafters, she likes to do more than just one kind of crafts one of which is x stitch and the one (and only) place that came to mind was Janlynn. They have a huge selection of rubber stamps (of course the fab Stamps Happen stamps) to satisfy our stamping addiction and also a huge range of needlework items so you can do all your crafty shopping in one place and the customer service is fab too. What more could you want? :)

Right I better get cracking with some cards since I am a bit behind on my DT work with having to spend most of my days this last week at the girls school!
Oh before I forget, I still have some stamps for sale below, with free postage in the UK, but I will also ship anywhere else.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Digital Tuesday dt card

The new challenge over at Digital Tuesday is "Bits and Pieces" (use scraps) and My Grafico is sponsoring us again this week.
They were also generous enough to give the design team one of their digital stamp sets to play with and it is so sweet.

Here's my card.

I used one of the cute images from the set My Grafico gave us, isn't he a cutie?! The set is designed by Primsy Doodles and can be seen here.

I printed the images out twice, coloured with Promarkers and layered the monkey and the leaves on trees.
The papers are K&Co which were in my scrap box. The flowers are Primas and the rose is from a local haberdashery, which I inked the edges of with sopme blue chalk in. Everything else is from my stash.

The winner of this weeks challenge will get a digi stamp set from My Grafico (winners choice) and also 30% off a purchase in store.
They have so many digi sets to choose from, cute, flowers, vintage or whatever other style you like, there is something for everyone.

Now that's my card done, just a little reminder that I still have stamps for sale (just scroll down my posts a bit. There is 2 posts with stamps). They are all new and I am selling them each for around half of their original price.
I did forget to say in the post that I will ship anywhere, so if there is something you fancy, either email me or leave me a comment, or you can leave me a message in my chat box. Please be sure to leave an email address or some way for me to contact you though as I have had comments from people this past few days and I can't get in touch with them because they didn't leave an contact email address.

Thanks for stopping by

Digital Tuesday Butterflies and Lace.

The challenge over at Digital Tuesday this week is to use butterflies and/or lace, so of course I just had to use both :)

The Butterfly images is from Fred She Said from the Flutterbies For Yout Flowers digi set and I coloured it with Promarkers, papers are Papermania from the Summer Bloom pack, pearls and the lace (which I just noticed is squint in this pic!) are from my stash and the flower was made using one of the flowers from Fred She Said from the Paper Roses and Leaves Template set and leaves are from the same set.
This just shows how versatile the rose template set is, you can make so much different flowers with it, not just roses.
I printed out the single flower and resized it to 50% then printed it out and drew round it on some handmade paper. I cut out 3 of them then scrunched the paper up and played with it a bit until I could seperate the layers and ended up with 2 layers then put them together and scrunched them up a bit to make it look it does now, then inked the edges a little.
I wasn't sure how these would turn out as I was just playing about with them not knowing what I was going to make, but I am quite pleased with the result :)

Before I go, I have a little bit of news to share. The other day I was asked to be on the Dewdrop Craftz design team!! :)
I love the images Nikki has in her store, so I am so happy that I am able to play with them all :)

I still have stamps for sale (you can see them in the 2 posts below), there are no prices on the posts but you can see most of the original prices on the stamps and I am selling most of them for under half price, so if you see anything you like, just shoot me an email or leave a comment and I will get back to you :)
Oh and forgot to mention that I will post anywhere :)

Wednesday 4 August 2010

2nd post today!!

I already had this card made earlier but I was waiting for my camera to charge so I could take a photo of it.
This is one I made with an image from Dewdrop Craftz. I saw one of their images on a blog the other day and just had to go have a look at them. I love anime sytle images and their anime images are fab!!

I just couldn't get a good photo of this because the spotty card is really shimmery and it just reflected the light. It is actually a silvery colour irl. I got it from a friend so I am not sure who makes it, but I do know that the purple one is by Chatterbox.
The image as I said is from Dewdrop Craftz by CupuDOTexe is called FuwaFuwa. I coloured her with Promarkers but I'm not very happy with her hair colouring because I only have a few browns markers just now and they are not very similar shades so it was hard to blend. I want to try her with black hair but I still need to get some more grey markers as I only have 2 greys which are both quite light. I haven't been using Promarkers that long, so I don't have all the colours I would like yet but I am collecting them a little at a time :)

The large rose is from John Lewis and was originaly a light cream but I inked the edges with some lilac ink, the tiny rose buds are fom Joanna Sheen's website and I sprayed them all with glimmer mist.
The glass bead wire spray thing is from a local florist warehouse. I must get more of these because they are so pretty in real life :)
The two hearts were handcut from some mulberry kind of paper that I found while looking for something else lol, and the pearls and gems are from my stash.

Wow that was a long post for one card wasn't it?!
Thanks for popping past, I really do appreciate all my visitors and I love to read your comments :)

By The Cute and Girly- August Challenge

The challenge over at By The Cute and Girly this month is Animal Antics. As always there is some great prizes top be won and also a guest designer spot for the October challenge.

My first make this month is a card, I know I am so predictable! lol

The papers are ones from my scrap box so I'm not sure who makes them. The image I got in a rak and I coloured it with Promarkers, isn't it cute lol. I think it's a Penny Black but I could be wrong.
All all the flowers except the orange one which is one I found in my stash, is from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the gorgeous butterfly is from Little Snippets Etsy store who is also one of our sponsors this month.

My other project was a very easy one but it took me forever to make!!
The idea of making an animal circus train came to mind (no idea where that came from lol), and I was just going to make a card with panels that folded out to reveal the whole train, but then I thought I could do a 3d train that my youngest Daughter could play with as she is a bit of a tomboy, but time ran away with me and I knew there was just no way I would have time to make it, so I ended up just printing out some colouring pages that I found online (sorry I forgot to take a note of where I got them), and cut all the bits out and joined them together with some ribbon.

This was a pain to take a pic of! The whole train didn't fit in the photo, so I had to take it in two parts then join the two pics together. It's just as well I figured out that my camera can do that because there is no way I would of managed to do it in a graphics program because I am so challenged when it comes to stuff like that!! lol

I printed each image out twice then coloured with Promarkers and cut out all the animals except the Lion because he is behind bars and some of the other little bits and layered them on top to make it a bit 3d. It took me ages to cut out all the little bits and stick them on with foam pads!! I didn't have any silicone glue so I had to cut tiny strips of foam tape to stick the bars on with as I wanted it to look as though the animals were behind the bars............ could only be me who has a stupid idea like that when I only have 2 hours to get the whole thing done lol.

I also backed the whole thing with some thick card so it was a bit more sturdy and then Chiara was able to pull it around lol.

Sorry about the pics, I took them late at night.

Well I think that will be the last time I try to make something for the kids. They would of probably been better making it themselves!! lol

Thanks so much for stopping by :)
