Fred She Said blog hop

please scroll down to the next post for my Charisma card

Welcome to the Fred She Said blog hop!!
If you came here from Maria's blog then you are on the right track but if you have just stumbled onto my blog or didn't know about the blog hop, then you need to go start at the Fred She Said Blog and see what Tracey has in store for you!

If you have hopped with us before you will know how it works, but for those of you who don't, all you need to do is visit all the design team members blogs and pick up all the special words along the way, not forgetting to leave everyone some love :)
When you reach the end of the hop, you should have all the words collected and there will be instructions on the challenge blog to tell you what you have to do next, simple as that, and you could win yourself a $20 CAD to spend in the Fred She Said store AND a $20 gift certificate to spend at CropStop!!!

Now the design team were asked this time to use our favourite FSS image in our favourite style.
For me that was very easy because Tracey has just drawn the sweetest little image Emma The Caroling Angel which I love so I just had to use it. Of course as always this image comes in lots of varuations including one with a halo but I opted to use the one without a halo for this card.

Sorry it's not a very good pic, but hopefully you can see most of the detail.
I coloured Emma with Promarkers and used Dazzling Diamonds glitter on her wings all the other white bits on her. You can't really see the sparkle here but it looks really sparkly in real life :)
The papers are by Nitwits and were free in a magazine, as was the sentiment.
I also used the paper roses and leaves template set to make the flowers, as this is my favourite FSS flower set, in fact it is my all time favourite flower set ;) They are so versatile and I love how much different kinds of flowers you can make with it.
I used the single flower images and sized them down so I had 3 different sizes of teh same flower and a one of the tiny little ones for the middle, then printed them on normal copy paper and coloured with promarkers, scrunched up, then just opened them up and layered them together with a gem in the centre.
The tulle is from my stash and the pretty pin is one a friend made and sent me :)

Now the word you need from me is DESIGN and you need to go see Michelle next. I just know she will have something beautiful for you to look at!

Here is a list of the hop order just incase you loose your way.

Lora You are here :)

Charisma DT card

A real quick post to show my Charisma Cardz dt card today as I am running late (as usual!!) and need to get my Fred She said blog hop post published as well!

The challenge over at Charisma this week is Christmas Crafting and we are sponsored by the Digi Stamp Boutique who also offered the design team one of her sweet digi images so of course I just had to use one :)

The cute image is calld Winter Suzie and Jasmin and I have coloured with the usual Promarkers.
All the papers and the paper embellies are freebies from a magazine by Nitwits which I have used on a few of my Christmas cards lately so you will be seeing it a lot lol.
I used a Hot Off The Press sentiment in the middle of the circle and..... well that's it really, a very cheap card with NO flowers!!! Can you believe it??!! lol
I followed the sketch from somewhere but I can't remember which challenge blog it was lol, so I will  have a look when I get home tonight and will add a link,

Right I'd better get going because I have to get the kids off to school and I have a doctors appointment, so I'd better get my skates on!

Digital Tuesday meets Fred She Said

The challenge over at Digital Tuesday this week Thank You/Give Thanks.
I decided to use the new Sunflowers and Thankfulness Digi set  from from Fred She Said.  As always Tracey has done a lot of variations on this set, so you will have to check it out in the store to see all the different versions, but here's a peek at one of them.

Unfortunately the pic is really rubbish because I had to take it at night time as I haven't been at home during the day when the light is good for a few days but at least you can see it ;)

I coloured teh sunflowers with my Promarkers but Tracey has done some pre coloured sets as well which is really handy if you need to make a card quickly!
There is also verses for the frame but I used a Stampendous rubber stamp for the sentiment.
The yellow paper is a freebie from a magazine and the gree is from Stampin Up!. You can just about see the music paper under the green strips, which is from an old Viola sheet music book. I do not play viola though lol, just found the book and thought it would be good to use on cards :)
I used a few different bits from my ribbon stash and job done.

Not the kind of cards I normaly make and not sure if I like it very much but I say that with every flowery card I make lol. I really enjoyed colouring the flowers though and there is so much you can do with this set.

That's it from me today, hope you will check out the challenge this week and if you haven't entered this months challenge over at By The Cute and Girly yet, you still have until Wednesday evening to get your entries in. The theme is Indian Summer and as always we have some great prizes up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by

My first Charisma DT card!

Well I did have a post scheduled for 8.30 am but for some reason blogger decided not to post it and it has dissapeared from my posts all together!!
So guess I'd better get on with this post since it's my first DT card for Charisma Cardz and I am seriously late!! Sorry Carly I promise to try better  next week! lol

It's an open challenge at Charisma this week so anything goes, which was great for me as I still had a girly card to make for an order so I was able to combine it with the challenge.
This is the other card that I made for another 5 year old girl who is a typical little girl and loves pink, so it was a great excuse to get all girly again :)

This is an easel card but I didn't take a pic of it opened. It is just the same layout, papers and lace with the girls name on it.
The main paper is Papermania and I think the other is K&Co but I have had it for som long that I can't remember.
The image is of course from Sugar Nellie and I coloured her with Promarkers. Larger roses are from Wild Orchid Crats and the smaller ones are from Janlynn.com and the lace and pearls are from my stash.

Hope you can join in with the challenge this week and just a reminder that you still have another week to enter the challenge over at By The Cute and Girly. The challenge for September is Indian Summer and we have some great prizes up for grabs again this month!

Digital Tuesday- All about the girls

This week at Digital Tuesday it's my turn to host the challenge and I chose "It's all about the girls".
If you follow my blog you will know that I am not very good at making male cards lol, so of course the challenge had to be something girly :

I was asked by someone at my girls school to make two cards, one for her Daughter who will be 5 on her birthday and the other for one of the other kids at school who will also be 5 on her birthday.
She had saw a card I made a few weeks ago which was a vintage style easel card with Tilda on it and she loved it so wanted me to do something similar but more suitable for a little girl, so here's what I came up with for one of the cards (the other I will show tomorrow).

It is an easel card, but the bottom bit has the little girls name etc on it and I didn't want to show that on my blog just incase she see's it on her before her birthday. The bottom is just the same papers and I used the same lace and added her name.

I did do a lot of distressing but I didn't want it to look too vintage as it is for a 5 year old, so I choose this cute Princess Anya image by the Greetings Farm to keep it more child friendly.
The papers are by K&Co, the larger roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the smaller ones are from Janlynn.com. Everything else is from my stash, and Anya is coloured with Promarkers.

Now the card is done, I can tell you some news!
First of all I have been asked to be on the Charisma Cardz design team and my first card for them will be tomorrow :)

Also my 2 oldest children Liam and Rhianna are proud dt members (or secret agents as they call themselves lol) of a brand new kids challenge blog called Messy's Mini Missions and the first challenge will be on the 1st of October.
So if you have any mini crafters in your life, let them know about the new challenges/missions so they can join in! There will be prizes to be won and there is even some candy up for grabs on the blog already before the first challenge starts, so why not pop over and check it out, and it would be great if you could spread the word about the new blog :)

That's it from me for today, but I will be back tomorrow with my first card for Charisma!

Digital Tuesday DT card

It's Ellie's turn to host the challenge this week over at Digital Tuesday and she has chose Spots and Stripes.
Our sponsor is Digital Delights who also gave the design team some of their images to play with.
I'm really noto happy with this card and I think it will end up in the bin, but here it is anyway.

The colours irl don't look anything like they do in this pic, the top paper is darker and the purple base is not so purple, but never mind.
The image is from Digital Delights and is called Augustus The Dragon. If you haven't been to look at the images at Digital Delights lately, you really should because there is some fab ones.
I coloured this one with the usual Promarkers and the paper is Kaisercraft. The top and bottom pieces are the front adn back of the same sheet.
The ribbon is Bo Bunny andthe rest is from my stash.

I hope you will join us this week for the chance to win a $10 gift certificate to spend at Digital Delights.
Also just a reminder that the challenge over at By The Cute and Girly is Indian Summer and as always you can enter with any type of craft and as much times as you like as long as each entry is with a different craft. There is some great prizes to be won again this month and also 2 guest design team spots up for grabs.

Thanks for stopping by.

A lot of DT stuff!

As the title says, I have a lot of DT stuff to show today. The new challenge is up today over at By The Cute and Girly and the theme this month is Indian Summer.
You can interpret that however you like and the dt girls have some great samples to show you over at the challenge blog for inspiration.
For my first make I chose to just use the colours and made a card.

The image is one I got in a rak so I am not actualy sure who makes the stamp. It is embossed with black ep and I coloured it with Promarkers.
The papers are Craftwork Cards and were freebies in a magazine!
The ribbon is from my stash and the sunflower is from Janlynn.com. Unfortunately thir embelishments are all discontinued but they a still have all the great stamps and loads of goodies for those who love needlework along with lots more for your crafting addiction!

My next project is a little pillow box, well actualy it's not quite so little, it is actually quite big.

I went with the colours again for this and used a piece of paper that I got from one of my dt's girls at BTC&G (thanks hun xx).
The image I have used is from Whimsy Stamps who are one of our sponsors this month and very kindly gave the design team some of their images to play with. This one is called Maya blowing bubbles and I think she is so cute. I coloured her with Promarkers and this is the first time I have ever attempted to colour darker skin so I'm not sure how well I did but I think it looks ok?
Then I finished it off with another sunflower from Janlynn and some gems from my stash.

My next DT project is for  the Digital Tuesday challenge where the challenge is to make a gift set.
I should of posted this yesterday, but I thought that the colours I have used tied in with the theme at By The Cute and Girly so thought I would post it all together today.

I managed to combine 3 DT projects in one here! The image is from Dewdrop Craftz and I coloured again with Promarkers. There are quite a few of these bees over at Dewrop Craftz and they are all as cute as each other but I had this one printed and already coloured so thought I would make use of it.
The papers are Heidi Grace, I used my Fiskars border punch on the strip in the middle which is the paper that is on the reverse of the sheet I used for the rest of the card.
The flowers I made using the Paper Roses and Leaves Template set from Fred She Said.
I reduced the size of the flower to 3 different sizes, then printed them out onto normal white copy paper then coloured them with a Promarker, scrunched them up then opened them and cut down each petal then layered them and added a sticky back gem to the middle.
Have I told you before that I l;ove this flower set?? Ok yes I know I say that every time I use it lol, but it really is my favourite flower set from FSS because there is so much you can do with it.

A close up of the top of the box just so you can see the pwretty flowers :)
I used the same paper on the box and the leaves are from the same FSS set, again printed on white copy paper and coloured with a Promarker.

Right that's me done for now, 4 DT's in one post, I really am doing well at multi tasking!! lol
I hope you will join in with the BTC&G challenge this month. As always we have some fab prizes up for grabs and 2 guest dt spots too.
And if you have time this week I would love to see your entries at Digital Tuesday too. Why not combine the two and have a chance to win in both challenges? :)
