Digital Tuesday Heart 2 Heart

The new challenge over at Digital Tuesday is "Heart To Heart". Paula is our hostess this week and she would like to see hearts on your card. Our sponsor for this week is Digital stamp Oasis who will give the winner 3 digis of their choice.
My card turned out nothing like what I had planned, in fact it even changed from being a square card to a heart lol

The cute skunk is by Dawn Moore, isn't he so sweet?
I used the heart shape cutting file from The Cutting Cafe for my base. The paper isBasic Grey. I used some organza ribbon that has hearts along the edges which I bought for Rhianna while I was on holiday (I did ask this time lol). I stuck two heart behind my image which are overlapping, but you can only see a little piece of the cream one here as it doesn't show up very well in the pic. I got these in the beautiful wedding set I won from Lisa's Sophisticats Challenge. The flowers around the edge were all different colours but I just coloured them in with a marker.
See how my skunk has a really light patch on his knee? It is lighter IRL but it just looks weird here lol. It doesn't look that obvious in real life.
Right I'm off to see if I can get a pic of my blog candy stuff again while the rain has stopped for a minute. It will probably start raining again as soon as I take the stuff outside and everything will get soaked! Would you mind having soggy stuff if you won? lol
If you haven't already entered, the post is at the top of my blog. I promise I will send you dry goodies :)

Cute Daisy May DTcard- Easy As 1-2-3

Time for another Cute Daisy May challenge and the challenge this week is Easy As 1-2-3. We want to see 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 flowers on your cards.
Here's what I came up with.

Isn't this little Dasi cute? I was going to give her a white dress because she is in a sheet with other "grown up" Daisy's in wedding dresses, but me being me I had to be awkward and do her in green lol.
The paper I have used is Basic Grey Daisy is mounted on a scalloped circle cut from my nesties which I just rubbed some ink over, Flowers are Prima, ribbon, well ok I cheated a bit and used lace but in my world it's the same thing lol, and buttons are all from my stash.

Now that's the card done I have some stuff to tell you about.
First of all my BLOG CANDY. I will be updating my pic later today. I am still waiting for stuff to be delievered (I will not be ordering from that company again, that's been nearly 3 weeks and it's just in transit now!!) but I have loads of stamped images to add and some faux suede flowers amongst other things that I will take a pic of today. So get your name down for an entry HERE and if you are a follower, even better for you because I have more candy coming soon just for my followers :)

I know I have told you before but just incase any of you missed it, I'm gonna tell you again.
There's a new Challenge starting on the 1st of October. It's called By The Cute and Girly and I know you are going to love it!! It will not only be for cardmaking or scrapbooking, you can enter with any craft you like! The DT have been busy this last few weeks and we have so much inspiration for you, it's going to knock your socks off. Well maybe not mine but the rest of the girls will lol. You can do cards, scrapbook pages, other papercrafts, knitting, crosstitch, jewelry, even a flower arrangement or a nice home cooked dish, or anything else you want to make.
It will be a monthly challenge and you can enter as many times as you wish with a different craft, ie, a card, jewlery, scrapbook etc. Throughout the month we will also have tutorials and links to freebies that the girls think may be of interest to you. And the best bit is that we have great sponsors like the one and only Simon Says and loads of others, with lots of prizes to be had :)
So go check it out now and mark the 1st of October on your calender! Hope to see you there.

The Sugar Bowl and a missed challenge

The kids are off school today and Monday which means I don't have to do the school runs so more time to craft :) So I didn't waste any time getting started. Over at the Sugar Bowl there is a sketch by Gayle and the "please include" option this week is paper piecing.
So here's what I came up with.

I am really enjoying doing the distressed/vintage kind of style just now and these K&co papers work perfectly with it so I just had to use some more of them:)
I used the same papers to piece the girls clothes, teddy's bib and the book used the same but I coloured over her top, the little heart on the teddys bib and the book with a red Copic because you couldn't see the heart on teddy so I coloured it red but it looked out of place so I had to colour some more lol. The rest of the image is coloured with Copics.
All the flowers are Primas and the pearls adn ribbon are from my stash.
I quite like this card. What do you think?

Now about this missed challenge.
I just went to check out the new challenge over at Just Magnolia and realised that I hadn't posted my card for last weeks sketch yet...duh! So I thought I may as well show it anyway.

Sorry another rubbish photo! Anyway I used a Tilda image that I was sent by a friend and a log from Magnolia too. Tilda is coloured with my usual Copics and the papers are Bo bunny.
I used my Fiskars Threading Water border punch (which you can hardly see here because of my rubbish scan).
So that's the card I made on Tuesday and just got round to posting today! Never mind, there is a new challenge today so maybe I will post that one on time lol.

I'm off to do some more crafting for DT work then I will be by to visit you all later this evening.
If you haven't entered my candy giveaway, then what you waiting for?(It's pinned at the top of my blog). I have more stuff on it's way (hopefully very soon!), so get your entry in now. Anyone who is following me or starts to follow will get 2 entries, so if you are one of my lovely followers then you will have double the chance of winning!
And for every 50 entries I will add even more goodies, so go spread the word (pretty please lol)

A special Thank You card from Rhianna

No cards from me this time, instead my 6 year old daughter Rhianna wants to show a card that she made.
She got a lovely birthday package in the post from Lorraine (Coldwaters2) today with her own stamps, papers, ribbon, flowers and soem Sakura pens!!So she wanted to make a card as a thank you to Lorraine but she wanted to post it here to show everyone else too before she posted it. So sorry Lorraine, it won't be much of a surprise when it arrives lol.
Nearly everything she used on this card was from Lorraine. The only things from my stash was the smallest flower and the button. She even coloured the image with the pens she got. Do you like the green smile and the red dog? lol I did ask why she had a green smile and her answer was "are you stupid, it's not a real girl Mum it's only a picture. She can be whatever colour I want her to be". that's me told then lol.
The lay out is her own and she cut all the pieces of paper using my cutter on her own (I was sitting right next to her while she was using the cutter though).
I have been told to tell you that the image is ment to be Lorraine when she was a little girl with her doggie pmsl, (Sorry Lorraine, I have to obey the kids orders lol) and she used the sweetheart sentiment because (in her words) Lorraine is a sweetheart. Well she's not wrong there is she?
Well that's it from Rhianna and me for now.
Please scroll down for my Digital Tuesday card post and up the way for my Blog Candy post.

Digital Tuesday -Falling leaves

It's that time of the week again and we have another Digital Tuesday challenge for you. Michelle R is hostess this week and has set the challenge of falling leaves. As you may have guessed by now, Autumn or Fall cards are not my strong point and I really do struggle with them, but I did have fun making this one.
The main image is the new release Emma from Fred She Said, isn't she just gorgeous? and the leaf flourishes image is from Mcmahon 5 designs who are also our sponsor this week. Sue the owner is offering some fab digi's for the winner and has also made a beautiful card to give you some inspiartion. You can check it out on the challenge blog along with the rest of the DT's cards.
I'm not sure who this paper is by because I have had it since last year so I wouldn't even hazard a guess.
The little leaves were just punched with a tiny puch from different scraps of card anf the leaves in the background were silver skeleton leaves that I won in Lorraines blog candy. The silver didn't go with my colours but I really wanted to use them so I sprayed them a few times with gold Cosmic Shimmer and they turned out great. You can't see very well here but irl some of the bits make them look like silk leaves. this is the first time i have used Cosmic Shimmers but I think I will be playing again soon :)
Hope to see some of you over at the challenge this week. You don't need to go overboard with the leaves like I did lol, you can just use some leaf patterned paper or even some leaf brads. As long as we can see leaves somewhere and you have used a digi image then you can enter for the prize :)
Right guess where I have to run to now? That's right I have to run to make it on time for the kids school lol. I really need a car!! Anyone want to buy me one?....Thought not. Oh well will just have to get my running shoes on!

Hugs Lora x

Gone vintage with no stamps!

The new challenge over at Sophisticats this week is a sketch and also you are not allowed to use any stamps aaarrrggghh!
I did manage though and I quite like the outcome too. I used a vintage image and printed it onto hammered card instead of using a stamp or digi stamp.
I wanted to post it tonight but I can't take pics with my camera at night, well to be honest I can't take pics with my camera most of the time because it only works when it wants too!, so I scanned it instead and the scanner has squished my flowers and has made it look a bit blurry :( I am going to try take another pic in the morning before I take the kids to school though.
Anyway here's my card following the sketch.
The papers are K&Co and ........omg I just realised that I used a stamp for the ticket rofl, how stupid am I? I was proud of myself not using any stamps for the main image and forgot abou tthe ticket. Technicaly I didn't use a stamp though because it was left over from some I stamped teh other day for the wallet I made lol. Somehow I don't think the girls at Sophisticats will let me away with that one!! I'm sorry girls I will try better next time lol. I may even change it for a sentiment tomorrow before I take another pic.
Well not much more to say about this card except I messed it up but I can enter it into the Cupcake Craft Challenge because they want you to do some distressing and as you can see I have been let loose with the ink, and also distressed the edges with my really expensive distressing tool......that would be my finger nails lol.
I just made the flowers with a bit of lace some little rose buds and added the little pearly bits that were off another bunch of flowers that are way too big to use on cards and I just cut them down to size.
Well I hope you like it anyway.

Textured for Cute Daisy May

This weeks challenge at Cute Daisy May is to add some texture to your cards.
I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do but once I got started I had so many idea's of how to add texture, and I loved making this card.
Can you see how much fun I had with this one? You may not be able to see all the texture I have added here but if you click on the pic you should be able to see everything.
First of all I decided I would do some embossing and was going to use my cuttlebug embossing folders but I never actually got to that part yet because I spotted the embossing powder first :) I used a new Papermania stamp and stamped on some shimmery card then heat embossed in gold, then done the same on some mullberry paper. I have never embossed on Mullberry before and thought it might turn into a disaster but I had to try it lol. It worked just like normal paper but the embossing powder melted so much quicker.
I have no idea what the "stuff" that I put across the middle is called but I got it in a little cardmaking set and thought it would be good on this card, so it got stuck on too. Then for the fun bit, I coloured my CDM faisy with copics, used some Stickles on her wings and some green flocking powder on her dress. I love the way this stuff feels, couldn't stop touching it lol. I bet you didn't see that one coming did ya? Told you that you wouldn't see everything until you clicked on the pic ;)
And to finish it off some flowers. The green ones are punched with the SU! 5 petal punch and the others are faux suede flowers from The Flower Factory.
I think all in all a very touchy card. What do you think?
Now I have given you some ideas so go see the other DT girls cards, they have all done amazing cards again this week, and my blogging buddy and good friend Lorraine (Coldwaters) has also joined our team :D ( I think she is stalking me though now that she is on 2 teams with me lol), so be sure to leave her loads of love because her card is fabby.

I have to run and take the kids to school again. do you get the feeling that I am never on time for anything pmsl.
Please scroll down to see my FSS DT card under this post.

Fred She Said DT card with new release!

The new Fred She Said releases are in store now and I can tell you Tracey has done an amazing job again! She has done the cutest Emma image ever (which I have made a card with but can't show it just yet) and the most gorgeous flowers too.
I know I hardly ever make cards that don't have a "cute" image on them and Tracey certainly caters for cute too but I couldn't resist playing with one of the flowers. I used it with the pricking pattern border. Tracey has done different variations as always and you can have the flowers on their own if you want or use with the borders.

I coloured the flowers with my usual Copics, pricked all the pattern out which by the way didn't take me long at all, ( I told Tracey she has turned me into a flower loving paper pricker lol) then coloured the borders and I rubbed some light brown ink around the flowers with a small piece of sponge. The papers are downloads, not sure about the orange one but the other is by Summer Driggs. The larger flowers are punched from scraps with a Dovecraft punch and the others are all Primas. Ribbons and gems are from my stash.
I have only used one of the new flowers here but there are more for you to see, so what you still doing here? Get your bum over to the FSS store and take a look at the other gorgeous designs Tracey has for you.
I know you will find something that you HAVE to get ;)

Sophisticats challenge wallet and one from Rhianna too.

It's the second week of the Sophisticats challenge (I won their first challenge last week...woohoo!!!) and they want you to make any kind of wallet, any colour any style. I made a wallet/folder thing last night but Chiara decided she would spill hot chocolate all over it before I got a chance to take a photo!! Now I wonder why that sound familiar??? If yoiu have been a follower of mine for a long time, you will probably remember that I spilt a whole cup of hot chocolate all over my 12x12 papers (a full box of them) and it soaked nearly all of them!! You would think I would of learned my lesson and not took hot drinks to my table but obviously not. I left it on the table, forgot to drink it and Chiara knocked it over covering my project and a pile of other stuff too! At least it was cold and she didn't get burnt though.
So I made a quick little wallet today (the other one took me a while to make).
I had to scan it because my camera still wont go on! So the scanner squished it a bit and it looks squint but the score line you can see at the bottom does actually sit flat.

Here's the inside. The embossing hasn't shown up very well here either but it says because you are special.
The top picture looks big but it is actualy really small. I made it with a 6x6 piece of paper.
The papers are K&Co , the tickets were stamped on white shimmery card with black Stazon, then I rubbed over it with distress ink (using an old piece of sponge). The stamp was a freebie from a magazine. The sentiment is a inkadinkado stamp I bought ages ago but this is the first time I have used it. Everything else from my stash.
I saw something like this on someones blog months ago and remembered they used a 6x6 piece of card so I just played around with it and came up with this. I'm not sure who's blog I saw it on or if this is the same thing she made as it was ages ago and I can't rememebr exactly how it looked. But it was so easy to make that my 6 year old Daughter Rhianna made one too. I did measure and mark where she should score for her (after I did my own and sussed out where to score), but she scored the lines, folded and stuck it together, picked the papers and decorated it all on her own. So she want's to enter her one into the challenge too.
Sorry again about the rubbish scans.

She used papers by Crafts House and some bits from my stash. She hasn't put anything in the inside yet but I said I would show the inside anyway.

What do you think? Didn't she do well? She really wouldn't let me help with this because she wanted to enter the challenge and wanted to do it on her own, bless her. I think she done a great job :)

Well that's it from me and Rhianna for now but we still have the crafty stuff out so you may see something else later on today.
Please do leave a comment if you have a minute to let Rhianna know what you think of her wallet. She loves to read my comments and I know it will make her day if you leave one for her :)

Hugs
Lora (and Rhianna) xx

WOJ sketch challenge

I made a card for the Whiff Of Joy Challenge but it hasn't quite turned out how it was supposed to. I coloured my image earlier on today then tonight decided I would get my card done so had a look at the sketch and made up my card with all the layers, just had to stick on my image and flowers etc, then realised what I had done...... my image didn't fit because I was planning to rotate the sketch but forgot and just done it as it is. So I had to go find an image that would fit (I don't have any WOJ stamps yet, so had to just use what was in my image box), and I couldn't really find anything to fit well so just had to make do.
This is how it turned out anyway.

I don't know if I like this but it was fun to make. The papers are all from DCWV and flowers are Prima, sentiment is SU and punched out with the SU scalloped oval punch. Everything else is from my stash. Oh actually I got the heart from Lisa, thanks hunni xx.
That's it from me for now.

A big challenge for me!

Time for another Digital Tuesday challenge and boy was this a hard one for me!
The challenge this week is to make a clean and simple Fall card. This may sound easy but I do not do clean and simple and I couldn't help myself from adding some embellishments. Also Fall cards or Autumn as we call it in the UK are not really my kind of thing either so this challenge really was a hard one for me. Anyway this is what I eventually came up with. I think it is way too bare but I suppose that's what clean and simple is ment to be.
Our sponsor this week is KLM Designs and the winner will get 3 of their fab images which you can see on the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog.
I have no idea who makes this paper and I am not 100% about the image either but I will go have a look and see if I can find out where I got it then come back and add a link. The sentiment is from KLM, Flowers are Primas, ribbon and button from my stash.
I really like this cute image but I have to say this is not one of my favourite cards and it will probably end up in the bin. I did have fun colouring the image though.
In the UK we don't really send Autumn cards or Halloween cards so although there is some great images out there for this time of year, unfortunately, I don't really have a need to use them.
I hope you will join in with this weeks challenge and check out the other DT cards too. My dear friend Lorraine (Coldwaters) has joined the team and this is her first DT week, woohoo Lorraine!!
I'm off now to look through all the entries from last week because I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to look at them all yet. I'd better hurry up because I have to do the random thing and pick a winner for last week too!

Christmas already?

I thought I should maybe make a card for my blog while I had the chance tonight because I know I am going to be busy this week. I was going to keep it for a day I didn't have anything to post, but I know I will forget to post it then lol, so here it is now.
There is a fun sketch over at Create 4 fun, which of course I had to have a go at, You know I love sketches.
I must say though, I thought this card would fall over when stood up because it has so much different layers lol. I matted the layers as well so it's not exactly a light card. Think I will give this one to someone who lives nearby to save on postage lol.
I used two of the new craft stamps from Janlynn's new Stamps Happen Holiday Line. I masked teh cute penguin (Penguin Santa) and stamped all over with the Christmas Snowflakes stamp, then embossed teh snowflakes with gold embossing powder and coloured the penguin in with Copics.
The papers are new ones I got the other day and are by Crafts House. these papers have a lovely sheen to them which you can't really see here.
The flowers all all Primas, but I inked one of them around the edges because I didn't have another one the same colour.
I think I like this pastel colours for Christmas cards, what do you think?

I got new shelves and boxes for my craft stuff the other day so I am hoping to get the shelving unit up and all my crafty stuff in the boxes over the next few days. Probably no point though because I will never keep my stuff tidy. If it's messy it looks like I have more than I actually do, so I don't need to buy lots more lol. That's my excuse to Barry and I'm sticking to it pmsl.
I only tidy up when I want something new lol.

Lora x

A very Different Daisy May

Sorry I haven't blogged the last few days, I have been sooo busy. I will probably be busy over the next few days as well because we are getting a new washing machine, fridge and freezer delivered and have just bought paint for the girls room and my hall so got to get that done too!
Anyway onto the challenge. The theme this week at Cute Daisy May is "baby". I had to do my DT card last night and only had about 15 minutes to make it before I had to go out, so I had to do someting super quick! I was looking through some of my old magazines and came accross a decoupage page and although I never do this kind of thing, I thought it would be nice and easy and most importantly quick. So I stuck all the pirces on, added a baby Daisy and this is what it turned out like.
Ok I know this really is not my kind of thing and it's a bit plain for my liking but it's a baby card and it was quick to make so it will do lol.
I'm off to catch up with other DT stuff while I have some time to myself. Oh did I mention that my term is up at Squigglefly? Don't think I did but that is why I haven't shown any DT cards for them the last two weeks.
Oh and I have to tell you about a new challenge blog that I will be a part of. It's called "By The Cute And Girly" and it will be a monthly challenge. Jem (Jane) has set it up and she has some great ideas. It will not just be for cardmakers, but for any craft from card making to knitting and everything in between. More info about that soon.

Bye for now

Birthday card for my Little Princess

I finally got time to sit down and make a card for Rhianna tonight and just as well too because it's her birthday in the morning!
She went away to her swimming lessons tonight for an hour and 45mins so I managed to get all her presents wrapped and her card made. This was her first lesson and she loved it. She has been swimming with me loads of times but this was her first time having a lesson ad the first time without me. I was really nervous about letting her go but there was no need to be because she did really well and was very well behaved :)
I followed the sketch over at A Spoonfull Of Sugar, but I did rotate it.

I got this image as a rak a while ago and Rhianna has had her eye on it since I got it, but I only have the one so wouldn't give her it lol. So I think it was very generous to use it on her card eh? lol, just kidding, I kept it to use for her card because it's her favourite.
She also loves these Basic Grey papers so I knew I had to use them and of course what little princess doesn't like glitter and bling? So I had to use some stickles on the image and lots of bling.
The flowers are a mix of punched, a Prima and some I won in a candy a few months ago.
sentiment is SU! and is punched out with the SU! scalloped oval punch.
The little angel charm says "made for an angel" on the back, just perfect for my little angel :)
So what do you think, will she like it?
I can't believe she is 6, just seems like yesterday she was born. We were talking earlier and she said "Mummy, you know when I go to sleep tonight I will grow, and when I wake up in the morning I will be as big as a 6 year old" lol. I say to the kids on every birthday, wow look how big you are now you are 5 or whatever age they are. She must of remembered and thought that she will actually grow to be the same size as the other 6 year olds in her class. Bless her, she is the smallest kid in her class, so she might be gutted tomorrow when she gets to school and they are all still bigger than her lol. Might have to speak to her about that before she goes to school!
Well hope you are having a good evening/day. I am off to do some blog hopping.

Sophisticats first challenge!

I made this card on Sunday night as soon as Lisa put the challenge up on the SophistiCats blog, but I forgot to post it on my blog....duh. So before I forget again, here it is.

Another blurry pic I'm afraid. Lisa made a great sketch to follow and I had loads of fun making this one but I did have to squeeze the 3 pearls in at the bottom right corner because I forgot about them and didn't leave myself enough room. I'm not very good at remembering stuff lately am I lol.
My papers are Basic Grey although you can only see a little bit of the second paper because the image and the bits at the side and top are coverig most of it lol. The image is one I got from a blogging friend and I coloured her with my Copics. Flowers are all Primas which I inked a bit with some brown ink, sentiment is SU!, the butterflies which you can hardly see because I punched them from the same paper are done with a Anna Griffin punch (you can see them well IRL though), and everything else is from my stash. Oh I embossed an oval and cut it out because I don't have oval nesties yet, then inked over it and around the edges, then with the same ink I stamped some random flourishes with an inkadinkadoo stamp.

I went shopping and took Liam with me to help with carrying the bags lol. Just as well I did becuase we had loads of bags! I got Rhianna her scooter, loads of other stuff she had asked for, the other two kids a toy to open on Rhianna's birthday (just so they don't feel left out lol) and some new Copics for me :) I didn't buy much though because I will get some more at the weekend. Just got the colours that I really needed just now.
Rhianna is getting all excited about her birthday now and can't wait for Thursday to come, bless her. We are not having a party for her this year, but I will put a cake into school for her and her little friends to have on her birthday then when she gets home we are going to Barry's parents house so Rhianna can get her presents from them and we will stay for something to eat. Then on Saturday we are going to take the kids out somewhere, probably to the fun fair or something like that. When that is all over we are going to start decorating Liam and the girls rooms, so it looks like it will be a busy time here for a few days!
I'd better off and make some cards so I have something to put on my blog over the weekend!

Digital Tuesday DT card

Time for another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week Maria is our hostess and has set the challenge of "It's all about the kids"- make a card/project using a baby/child/teen digital image.
We are sponsored this week by the lovley Lynda from Cut It Out Paper Crafts who is giving the winner 3 of her digi's. She also gave us some of her images to play with for the challenge.

I have used Biker Karina, and ther eis also a bike for her too but I forgot I was going to use it and made my card then had no room to fit it in...oops.
The papers are K&Co and I embossed the bottom one with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
I did hand stiched the edge of the base card but it's very hard to see here and i also drew some faux stitching around... well around everything!
Flowers are Prima and a random one from my flower box and the rest is from my stash.

I'm off into town today to get Rhianna's birthday pressies. I thought I knew what I was getting her but she has changed her mind soo much this week that I have no idea! She hasn't changed her mind about the scooter though so hopefully I will be able to get that today. She really wants the Barbie one which has a hidden compartment with make up inside. I can see the need to put make up on when you are riding a scooter as fast as your little legs can push...not, but that's what she wants. If for any reason I can't get that one which by the way is £50!!, she wants a normal High School Musical one. I'm gonna look online first though to see if I can get one with next day delivery so I don't have to carry it home lol.
Will be by to see you when I get back from my shopping trip!

Cute Daisy May pink and ?

Well it's the start of anothr week and that means it's time for a new Cute Daisy May challenge.
This weeks challenge is a colour combo of pink and one other colour of your choice.
As you can see, I decided blue would be my other colour. The cute image is of course from CDM, papers are DCWV and flowers are punched with my SU! 5 petal punch. Everything else is from my stash. Not much else to say about this card. Nice and simple.
Sorry for the short post but I got to run to take Rhianna to school or else I will be late.
Hope you can join in with this weeks challenge.

Friday Sketchers card for a little boy

My youngest Daughter is going to a birthday party this Saturday so I had to make a card for her little friend.
I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketchers which was perfect for a boys card, nice and simple.I used some freebie images from Dustin Pike which I thought would be perfect for a 4 year old. The papers are all freebies from a magazine! This must be the cheapest card I have ever made!
Not much to say about this one. I coloured it with Copics and used my white SU! pen for highlights. Cut out all pirate and all the other bits to go with it and stuck some foam pads in the middle of the images and glue at the edges so the barrell and cannonballs looked more rounded. Wrote on the "sign" and the job was done. Easy peasy. I was going to add embelishments but what 4 year old cares what you have put on the card? He will be more interested in the pressie, which by the way I haven't bought yet and have no idea what to get.
Speaking of pressies, I still haven't got anything for Rhianna's birthday which is in 4 days!
I still need to make her cards too, so you will be seeing lots of pink frilly cards over the next few days. She loves anything girly so it's easy to buy her presents but i just need to find the time to go shopping for them!
Well I'm off to pick up Liam who has been with his Dad all weekend and is apparently covered in mud and soaked so I have to pick him up with a change of clothes ready lol.
Will be back later to pay you all a visit.

A challenge card and help needed please

Good morning girls and boys (just in case), I didn't a chance to make anything yesterday while the kids were at school because I was at their school all day too helping out, so I sat down last night and made a card when everyone went to bed.
I am entering this one into two challenges. I followed the sketch over at the Simon Says challenge and A Spoofull Of Sugar is asking for distressing this week so my card fits that challenge too.

I have used circles instead of ovals because I don't have any oval nesties yet :( and I also left out the ribbon that was in the sketch because I forgot to put it on before I stuck on all my flowers.
I used a Whiff Of Joy image that my lovely friend Lorraine sent me a few months ag0 and have coloured her with Copics. I wanted to distress the edges of my papers ( which are all Basic Grey) but I don't have one of those distressing tool things and I couldn't find a file (which is what I normaly use) so I just inked the edges of the papers the scratched around them with my fingernail. It worked a treat :) I then went over the edges again with some more ink.
I embossed one of the circles the inked over it and around the edges and pretty much inked around everything else too lol.
My flowers are punched out of some of the scraps I had left over and I stamped on them with a Anna Griffin background stamp. Swirls are punched from my All Night Media punch then inked and the little leaves are punched with a tiny punch I bought at Aries Crafts, which they sell for just over £1!.
Sentiment is Stampin Up and I also punched it out with the Stampin Up scalloped oval punch.

Well that's my card out of the way, now I want to ask you all a favour.
Erin who I am on the Fred She Said design team with has asked if we could help by sending cards to her 12 year old neighbour who was in a boating accident and has lost her arm. You will find the details on Erin's blog here and also a link to read an article about it.
Hope you can all help and maybe put a smile on this brave little girls face.

2 cards and a few challenges

I got time tonight to finally sit down and craft so I made 2 cards.
My first one if for the Just Christmas and Birthdays challenge and I have used a digi image of a yummy cupcake that I got from Penny (creations by penny). If you haven't visited Penny before then get yourself over there and check out her digi's for sale.

I coloured the cupcake with my Copics then added some glitter crystal lacquer to the strawberry and icing. I had never used crystal lacquer before I won some a few weeks ago in Lorraine (Coldwaters) blog candy and now I find myself wanting to use it on everything lol.
Papers are DCWV and Smirk and the flowers are digi's from Fred She Said. These ones are from the Polka Dotty Set. I cut them out then snip in between the petals, turn them over and use my embossing tool on the back of the petals to make them curl, then turn them face up again and push my embossing tool in the centre so the petals lift up and it also helps them stick to the card better too :)

My other card is for a good few challenges so I will list them all at the end.
For this one I used a cute House Mouse image that I got a long time ago in a blog candy win.
My papers are a mix of Basic Grey, DCWV and the yellow one is a digi paper from Summer Driggs.
The word BABY and the baby bottle is from a Messy Rabbit stamp set. I stuck a brad through the middle of the A and attached a little baby's feet charm. Ribbon and pearls are from my stash.
Right here goes for the challenges I am entering this one into.
Stamp With Fun - Sketch
Stampin for the weekend- Anything baby
Cute Card Thursday- New Beginnings
Basic Grey- Colour Combo of Brown, Yellow and Pink and use something from Basic Grey (paper)
Stamp Something-Animal Somethings
Pollycraft- Use Animals
Pile It On- Round (there is tiny spots on my Basic Grey paper and the circles my scalloped punch made lol)
Stamptacular Sunday-Scallop Mania
Penny's Challenge- Pearls

And finally I might be pushing this a bit, but My Time To Craft's theme is On the farm. I know mice are not farmyard animals but they do run about on farms.
Ok I know I have maybe took the challenge thing a bit far lol. I think that makes it 10 challenges. I am not sure if all of these challenge blogs let you combine challenges but thought I would give it a go anyway. It's not often I combine more than 2 challenges so why not lol.
Wow that took me ages to put all those links in!
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I haven't put you to sleep with that long post, that's if anyone has actually read this far down!

Die Cut Dreams DT Call

Susie and Vicki over at Die Cut Dreams are looking for new DT members so I thought I would give it a go, you never know right? For a chance to be on their DT, you have to make a card/project with a pink theme. I think my card may be pink enough lol.
I used the sketch from Lili of the valley .
I made it then thought afterwards maybe I'm not allowed to combine the call with a challenge. Oh well made it now.
This is probably not the best pic to enter for a DT call! Anya's hair looks weird here and my ribbon looks a lot darker than it really is. I think I will have to buy a new camera this week. I can't stand this awful looking photo's anymore!
The paper I used for the backing is a glittered K&Co one and the others are freebie downloads I have had for ever so no idea where they came from. I cut a circle with my scalloped nestie from a paper that was very lightly patterned and put it through my cuttlebug. I don't know the name of this embossing folder, it is a cuttlebug one but I am terrible at remembering their names.
Well I can always keep my fingers crossed :)

Recipe:
Stamps/Images: Anya from The Greeting Farm, sentiment from SU!
papers: K&Co and freebie downloads
Colouring: Copic Marker
Tools: SU! 5 petal flower punch, Dovecraft flower punch, SU! oval and scalloped oval punches, scalloped circle nestabilities, cuttlebug embossing folder, corner rounder punch.

Digital Tuesday -Lace and Pearls

It's time for another Digital Tuesday challenge and this week I am the hostess. It's my turn to set the challenge and I want to see LACE AND PEARLS on your card/projects this week. A bit predictable of me I know lol.
Our sponsor this week is Tracey from Fred She Said who is offering the winner a $10 gift certificate for her store. If you have never checked out the FSS store, you are missing out on so much and if you have been there before, you will know what gorgeous digi's you could buy if you were the winner of this weeks challenge.
For my card, I have used Little Miss Bitty digi and also some flowers and butterflies from "A Lovley Flower and Butterfly" set all from FSS.

The papers are K&Co and the blue one is a download, not sure where from. I have layered up some of the different sized flowers and stuck them onto the corner flower with the leaves and used a spacer and pearl to finish it off. My butterflies and Miss Bitty's wings have been done with glitter crystal lacquer that I won in Lorraine's blogcandy. I used a few more pearls up the side, and some on my girlie too. Well actually the white on her is pearl paint. think I have the pearl part covered then lol. The lace is some from my ever growing lace stash.
I can't wait to see what you come up with for this one! You can make a card, layout, alter something or whatever else you can think of as long as it has a digital element on it somewhere (can be from any company) and of course some pearls (or pearl paint like I have used) and lace. If you don't have any lace, you can use lace effect punches or paper, doilies etc. You can even combine it with other challenges, as long as it's a new creation.
Hope to see you there :)
