Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!
As it is Halloween today I just had to post aHalloween card :)
I don't send Halloween cards but I really enjoy making them and the Halloween images from Dewdrop Craftz are fab.

The lovely image is called Hallow and is of course from Dewdrop Craftz, isn't she pretty? As usual I coloured her with Promarkers and added some glossy accents to her wings and but I am having to use different paper to colour on than I normaly do as my local craft shop had none of my usual stuff in stock, and the glossy accents have made the colour bleed a bit, but it doesn't look that bad in real life.
The papers are a mix of ones I bough last year and this year and they are all by Bo Bunny. I'm not sure if any of them are new this year as my local craft shop doesn't take in much Halloween papers so they coudl all possibly be from last years collection.
As I am still having to scan my cards, I have been trying my hardest not to use flowers or bulky embelishments, so I just cut some of teh little characters from another Bo Bunny Halloween paper that I had some small scraps left over from another card I made and stuck them on.
I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketchers, so I will be entering this card in their challenge.

I may be back later with some FSS cards, but if not I will be back in the morning with my By The Cute and Girly post.
If you haven't entered October's challenge at BTC&G, today is your last day to do so. The challenge is Spooky, so any last minute Halloween cards like this one would be perfect to enter.
The new challenge and winners will  be posted tomorrow morning and as always there will be some great prizes up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by

Charisma DT and Just Magnolia

The new challenge is up at Charisma and the challenge this week is Match Master - to make a matching set, like a card and envelope to match,
I was going to make a card and envelope but my camera is still broken and I was a bit worried that I wouldn't manage to scan them together for the challenge blog pic, so I decided to do a card and a bookmark instead.

The challenge at Just Magnolia is to make a pink card so I went with that and made it very pink lol.
I used an old Magnolia stamp that I got from a special friend a while ago and coloured her with Promarkers.
The papers are Bo Bunny, Doodlebug and Paper Adventures, some ribbon and gems from my stash and a pretty embroidered butterfly from Little Snippets Etsy store.
I kept the bookmark really simple and just used 2 of the same papers and ribbon as the card. The butterfly is a little darker than the one I used on the card because I didn't have 2 left the same colour, but I don't think it matters.
If you haven't visited Little Snippets, I really would recommend you go have a look. Geraldine who is one of my dt girls at By The Cute and Girly is the owner and she makes the most beautiful embroidered embelishments and also crotchet flowers, butterflies etc, they just add a special touch to your project and I love them because you can embelish your cards with them and not have to worry about them being really bulky like it is with the flowers that we all use, which was great for me because I had to scan and can't get a proper scan when I use flowers, so these were just the job :)

I have just passed my 2 year blogging birthday on the 26th, so there will be some candy to celebrate, I am just waiting for some goodies to arrive and will have to borrow a camera from somewhere to take a pic of them lol, but it shoudl be on within the next few days, so keep an eye out for that! :)

 Thanks for stopping by.

Charisma Cardz Vintage

This post should of been on first thing this morning, but my youngest Daughter decided that she would stand on my keyboard just as I logged into blogger to publish it and my computer went off and wouldn't go back on!!!
Eventually Barry got it working again for me. No idea what was wrong with it, I thought she had stood on the sleep button and the computer went for a snooze but normaly when that happens (my kids have pushed the sleep button a lot!! lol) the power light flashes on and off but this time it went off altogether and wouldn't go back on. At least it's fixed now though.

It's my turn to host the challenge this week at Charisma Cardz  and I chose Vintage.
I love the vintage style but don't do it very much because I don't think I am very good at it lol.
I think soem of the girls at Charisma could of killed me for choosing vintage because a few of them have never done vintage cards before lol,  but they all done a fab job and have made some lovely cards :)

The image is a Penny Black one which I got from a lovely blogger friend and coloured with Promarkers.
The background paper is Paper Cellar from the Victorian Classic pad, the music paper and faux stamp is from a set that another lovely friend gave me and the sentiment tag is also from the same friend (thanks hunnie xx).
I distressed and inked all teh edges of the papers and added some wide lace from my stash. No flowers again on this card! I will be getting withdrawl symptoms soon!! lol

 Thanks for stopping

Digital Tuesday- Halloween colour combo

I can't believe that I forgot to post my dt card for Digital Tuesday this morning! I normaly schedule the post, but I didn't this time for some reason and I forgot to go post it.
Oh well never mind, better late than never.

The challenge this week is to make a Halloween card using yellow, purple and black.
Our sponsor this week is Blackleaf Studio who also gave the design team their Trick Or Treat digi set to have a play with.

I still haven't got my camera fixed, so another scan I'm afraid.

Both the girl and the spider are from Blackleaf's Trick or Treat set and I coloured them with Promarkers.
The papers are from last years Halloween collection from Bo Bunny and just some yellow and purple card stock.
I inked all the edges in black and punched the purple patterned strip with my Fiskars border punch and  that's it. No embelies at all!! I didn't have any really suitable for a Halloween card, but I think there is enough going on with the patterns on the papers that it doesn't really need any.

If you enter the challenge this week, you have the chance of winning this digi set, which includes other images that I haven't used here.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sugar Nellie for a special friend

I had a play with my stamps today and made a card for the Sugar Bowl challenge where Tiets has done another great sketch.
I don't have that many stamps but of what I do have, most of them are Sugar Nellies as I love their designs and they are a delight to colour :)
The optional theme is Autumn so I got out all my Autumn coloured papers and had a go. I even coloured my image with distress inks for the first time! I need loads of practise, but it was fun, so think I might buy some more colours and use the inks more often.

I must apologise for this pic as it is really bad!! I still don't have a working camera so had to scan it and the card is quite dimensional because there is a lot of layers so it didn't scan very well and for some reason no matter where I place the card in my scanner, it always cuts off one of the edges....so annoying!!
My new battery charger thing (long story lol) shoudl be here tomorrow, so hopefully my next card on here will be a half decent pic!

Oh my, this photo really is blurry! but hopefully you can get the jist of it .  I will replace it as soon as I get my camera up and running again!

I made this card with a special friend in mind as she has been going through a tough time lately so just wanted to let her know that I am thinking of her :)
As I said I coloured the image with distress inks, except the grass which I did with Promarkers because I don't have a green ink yet.
I'm not sure how I did?? Please leave me a comment and let me know. Any constructive criticism welcome, and if anyone has any tips for using them it would be much appreciated :)

The papers are a bit of a mix, the light leaf print one is Bo Bunny and the others are Papermania Capsule Collection.
The ribbon and rafia stuff are from my stash, sentiment is from an Autumn Leaves Stampology set and the sunflower (not very Autumn like lol) is from Janlynn.com.

I have some more cards to show over the coming days using embelishments from Janlynn which unfortunately are now disscontinued, but they have so much more crafty goodies for you to look at, from craft stamps to cross stitch, so no matter what crafts you like to do, they have something for everyone.

That's it from me for now. Hope you have had a great weekend and for my UK friends, hope your having a great October Holiday!

Digital Tuesday DT card

This week at Digital Tuesday the challenge is to use sewing on your card, faux or real.
My sewing machine is broken, so I done some faux stitching with a white gel pen.
Our sponsor this week is Designed 2 Delight was also gave the design team some images to work with.

I chose to use this stitched snowman from Designed 2 Delight because I thought it fitted the sewing theme perfectly :) I coloured it with Promarkers, just using a tiny amount of light blue to outline the snowman.
The papers are freebies from magazines as are the christmas trees which I just cut out and stuck on with foam dots and the sentiment which also has some faux stutching on it.
I used some white organza ribbon then added a box with the lilac spotty ribbon which were both from a craft shop in Montrose that I went to in the Summer holidays.

I had to scan this card because my camera is dead and my charger is broken :( I ordered a new one yesterday so hopefully it comes soon!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will join in with this weeks challenge.

Fred She Said DT Card

I forgot to add my card for the Digital Tuesday challenge to here on Tuesday! I am just sooo forgetfull just now!!
The challenge this week is "Ribbons, Buttons and Bling", you can use all of them or any of them so I opted for just ribbons and bling.
Our sponsor this week is Fred She Said who is offering a gift certificate to spend in the FSS store.

As FSS is our sponsor this week, I was able to double up and made a card for both Fred She Said and Digital Tuesday DT's.

I know I used one of these images last week, but I really like this one and I have used the caroler version this time instead of the angel.
This one is called Emma The Caroler and she is also now available in colour too :)
I coloured her with Promarkers and added some diamond stickles.
I followed the sketch at Fussy and Fancy for this one and used a load of pearls for all the dots in the sketch. The ones at the top are pink pearls that I got off Ebay and the white ones are done with a pearl paint pen.
The paper is by Bo Bunny, the little roses are from Wild Orchid crafts, ribbons from my stash and the pink flowers I made myslef with some organza material.

If you didn't already know, Fred She Said has a sale on to celebrate World Carmaking day which ends tonight at midnight EDT.
There is 25% off everything in store with orders over $10 (CAD), so if you have your eye on anything in the store, go get them now and grab yourslef a bargain!
The sets are a bargain even without the 25% off as there is so much in them but with the money off it's a great deal and I know if I wasn't on the design team and already didn't already have them all, I would be over there filling up my basket! :)
