keepsake card

I've been so busy the last couple of days making yet more christmas cards, but today I took a break for a while and got out my new keepsake board which I bought a few days ago but had lost my embossing tool so couldnt use it!!

Anyway I finally found my embossing tool and made a butterfly card. It's made using the elegance and fantasy board which I know is one of the glitter girls older boards, but its new to me :) I only have a few of their boards but I must admit I do like using them especially if I want to make a special card for someone.

I have always looked past the elegance and fantasy board each time I have bought a new board and bought a different one as I thought I wouldnt use it much, but I got it on ebay for nearly half price and I'm glad I got it because after using it today I really do like it.

I actualy made it as a thank you card for someone who was very kind to me a few weeks ago. I had been meaning to make one for her for a while but couldnt decide what kind of card to do, but I made up my mind today as I know she likes the keepsake boards and I wanted something that was a little more special than a "normal"card. I cant say who she is on here just incase she reads it and it spoils the surprise but I have posted a pic as she wont know its for her untill she gets it

I dont really think she will read it because I don't think anyone reads my blog :( but just in case.

My efforts at doing childrens cards!!

I have had a few orders for christmas cards so been really with that for the last couple of weeks.
A few friends have asked me to make Christmas cards for their children. They have all more or less been character decoupage cards so it's been quite easy but means I haven't played with my stamps for a while :(
Anyway just as I thought I would be stuck with making the same characters over and over again, (all little girls love disney princess or pooh bear!!) I was asked if I could do a Littlest Pet Shop Card for someone's daughter as they are her favourite thing at the moment. My girls have some Littlest Pet Shop Toys so I knew what she was talking about but I had never seen a card made with an image of them so I went off searching for an image i could use for a card, which I found out wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.
I finally found a picture that I could use, which was like one of the posters you get with all the characters on it in little circles. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, but after much debating, I decided I would layer all the characters up in their circles. Only problem then was that it didnt look very festive so i added a few embelishments and I think its turned out surprisingly good. Ive posted a pic below so please let me know what you think :)

Now some of the christmas cards are done, I will maybe have time to do a few challenge cards :)

I have loads to do today! Just got an order for 10 cards which is great but...... they have to be done by Friday!! So I will have to search the net for some inspiration and start creating!

challenge card

I made this card with my son Liam who is 10, we were just messing around with some of his stamps and a new frog stamp I got from a friend. Then when I went onto cardvarks blog, I noticed they were doing a monogram card challenge, so I thought why not enter it?

Not the sort of card I would normaly enter for a challenge but my son is so happy and proud that I entered a card he helped with!!
