A spoon full of sugar and a Gorjuss girl

This is a long post. Please do not hold me responsible if you fall asleep half way down lol.
I have finally brought myself to use one of the gorjuss girl images that Heather sent me. I have been hanging on to them because I don't want to use them all up lol, but at the same time I have been dying to use them so I forced myself to use one last night and I love her, I have got to convince Barry that I need some of these stamps more than the kids need new toys! Well they have loads of toys and I don't have lots of stamps so it's only fair isn't it? The kids might not be too happy about that but they will have a happy Mummy lol.
Anyway here's the card I made, it's smaller than I normally do again because I have ran out of card so I'm using the pre made ones I won from Lorraine's blog candy. Thank you so much Lorraine these have came in sooo handy, just like I said they would :)
I have followed the sketch over at A Spoonfull Of Sugar. It's quite a simple sketch but I really like it. Was perfect for this size of card.
I have coloured my Gorjuss girl with Copics as usual but Heather uses Bristol Board which I have never used before and I have to say I love it! It is so much easier to colour on and the ink stays wet for a little longer giving you time to blend. I was at my local art shop yesterday and they have some so I think I will be getting some of that next time I'm there, although it is quite expensive but I think it's worth it.
My papers are all the result of my shopping trip yesterday (more about that in a min) and are Amy Butler from K&Co. The sentiment is from Stampin UP! Circle Of Friendship set, the only one I have from SU! infact the only sentiment set I have but I love it. Must get some more though. I have stuck my sentiment onto a metal flower tag thing, I think it was from Artymiss,
and all my flowers are Prima which you can buy at Aries Crafts, link in my sidebar.

Now that's the card out of the way, let me tell you about my wee shopping trip yesterday.
I was going to go to the paper mill for some card and paper for printing on but I changed my mind and headed to my local craft shop (Holburn Crafts in Aberdeen). I needed some detailed embossing powder and thought right I wil go to the craft shop, get the powder then might have time to get back home and go to the paper mill for my card (it's in the opposite direction and only a 10 minute bus journey from my house) but I ended up in town shopping and not getting back till hours after lol so missed the papermill. Never mind I will go today in a bit.
Before I got to the craft shop I thought I would just nip in to the Art shop to get a skin coloured Copic as my lightest one had ran out so I popped in there and ended up buying 5 Copics instead of 1 lol, they are only £1.99 each though so that was ok. I also looked at the Bristol Board and other papers but didn't buy any, then I headed up town and passed the Haberdashery, well I had to pop in didn't I? I got loads of lace and for £2.50!! Then remembered I had to pick up my Nieces birthday presents so went and got her 2 games for her Nintendo DS and finally on to the craft shop. I finally got there at 4.45 and they close at 5 but Gayle the owner is great and kept the shop open so I could have a good look :)
I ended up buying 3 K&Co Mat stacks, a DCWV 8x8 premium pad (very pretty and it's glittered too), a flower punch (which I don't like very much now I have had a good look at it) and some tape. I paid for that (£34) then just as I was leaving remembered what I had actually went there for! So bought my embossing powder too. All in all I was just under £38 in the craft shop when I only went for 1 tub of embossing powder lol.
On the way home I bought the girls an arty activity set each and Liam some huge planes and got a few other bits we needed. So that was my day out. Thjought I would just get some embossing powder and ended up spending about £150!...oops Better just take the moeny I need for my card when I go to the papermill lol.

Hope you are all having a lovely day and that I haven't sent you to sleep!
Hugs Lora xx

Hi Lora,
nice to see another Aberdeen quine in bloggy land - I found you from the comment you left on Michelle's blog. I'm in Portlethen.
I love your GG card - the GG's are a dream to colour, you really need to invest in them - there's a new set out at the end of this month.
I can stamp a few out for you to try if you want
