My card today uses "Pirate Christopher"
Isn't this just the cutest little pirate ever!? I coloured him with Promarkers and embossed his belt buckle and sword with silver embossing powder.
The papers were from a lovely blogging friend and I just finished it off with some black gems from my local pound store.
And I am entering this card into the Stamps R Us Challenge where it's "anything goes"
I decided to make another card with the same stamp using "non traditional" pirate colours.
I followed the sketch over at Sketch and Stash for this one and of course my new stash is the stamp.
As usual I coloured with Promarkers and this time I embossed his belt, sword and the little skull with gold embossing powder.
I found the gold sequin waste stuff in my kids craft box and thought it would look quite good with the pirate image and then used a metal "coin" embellishment from Janlynn.com which was actualy silver but I just inked it with a couple of coats of gold ink, drying inbetween each layer with my heat gun, to make it match the rest of the card.
I love how you can take any of these images and make a totally different card each time by just changing the colours.
I really had fun with this stamp and I have so much more ideas for cards using it.
My middle Daughter's birthday is next week and I was going to have a party for her but since we moved and none of her friends from her old school would be able to come because we are too far away from them, I decided not too, but I was thinking, wouldn't this stamp be perfect for a princess and pirate theme party for a child?
I thought of this theme before for one of my kids parties but I didn't do it because I couldn't find a pirate themed stamp that I liked, but this stamp is just perfect for it.....it's boyish but cute enough to be used on a girls invitation too :)
Actually now that I think about it, I could easily have a little party in the house with a few of her new school friends just so I can make some invitations with this little cutie lol, and any of the Inky girl stamps would be perfect for the girls one too:)
